There are lots of regional differences indeed. I'm not an expert, so I'd love confirmation on this, but from what I've read, it is especially different in Bavaria and Austria, and also in South western regions...

Nice explanation Dennis, Depending on what sound comes right after the "y", it can be heard more or less clearly, because it can be "linked" to the following sound as in "y-usted". Its original pronunciation remains the same nevertheless..

in means both inside something or toward something, if you say in die kneipe it means "to the bar", if it's in der kneipe it means "in the bar", if you choose in die kneipe then it should be followed by for example gehen cause it's a motion. (er ist in die kneipe gegangen). remember ist here is for the past tense and not exaclty a to be verb to describe an is situation if that makes sense. I know this is one of the most difficult things in the language especially, I am level 3 and still mix things up sometimes. if someone is better than me at this feel free to correct me too I also need a lot of help for my German learning! Good luck!

Hi Jillfrost, Thanks a lot for pointing this out. You understood the use and place of "nicht" well, your example phrases are all correct. In the last one, you couldn't follow it up with "sondern im hotel bleiben", you'd have to add the subject again, so it's more complex.
One option could be: Wir gehen morgen ins Schimmbad nicht ; doch wir bleiben stattdessen im Hotel" Now, about the workout you're mentioning from the program, you're totally right that you can't guess where to place the "nicht" here, only in the last sentence (Wir mochten heute Abend nicht zu Niklas' Feier gehen, sondern in ein Restaurant). So for this phrase the contents team will take care of adding all possible options for "nicht", we'll let you know when this update is available.
Thanks for your comment again! Hope you're enjoying the rest of the program!

    Hi James,
Your doubt is perfectly valid here since the English translation doesn't change, but the Spanish structure does. Actually what happens in the second sentence is that it is not expressing a real future in Spanish, but rather an immediate action. Sometimes you can use a present tense in Spanish to express something that you're planning to do right away. So to translate more precisely, we could say:
Voy a llamar a Sandra = I'm going to call Sandra > near future
Yo llamo a Sandra (enseguida) = I'm calling Sandra (right away) > immediate action
To avoid further confusions, we'll make sure the translation in English matches -even if it's not the most natural- in the next update. Thanks for pointing out this issue and enjoy the rest of level 5!

    Hi Tismert,
You can find a summary of all the material taught by level in the main menu of the software when clicking on the "Global Index" (at the top).
There isn't a specific part on sentence structure though, as this is something we work on throughout the program progressively, and as it depends on each situation.. (describing, comparing, commenting etc)
Hope it helps..or maybe you're looking for a specific structure? Let me know if I missed your point here 🙂
