I am in the 2nd level of portuguese and feel I am doing well. I am going to Portugal next month and recently read that the language of one country won't help in the other. Does anyone feel that's true. My Spanish is very good (thanks Fluenz among many other things) so the study of Portuguese seems fairly easy to me, so far. I intend to go to Brazil but Portugal will be first. Thoughts on this are appreciated.

In addition to the Fluenz audio, I found this site on Spotify. Easy listening at home, in the car or wherever. I found you can also control the speed of the dialogue which helps me. Most of it is still beyond my comprehension, but I can piece together the story-lines by a few words here and there. There is also short quizzes you can download for every chapter. Available in various languages.
