My profile pic is part of the airbnb we stayed at in Mérida, México. The most special times that I enjoyed were among the natives there. I even got to sit around someone's comedor and converse in Spanish without a translator! The people are very friendly, and as Sonia has promised many times, the food was amazing! Among my favorites was Ponchinita Pibil, a kind of slow roasted pork that is marinated in fresh orange juice and cooked inside banana leaves.

Friendly tip - ICE is water. ¡Cuidate mucho!

    The only failure is stopping.

Wow, that sounds like such a wonderful experience! Mérida sounds like a beautiful place to visit, and how amazing that you got to converse in Spanish with the locals. There’s nothing quite like connecting with people in their own language!

Thanks for the friendly tip too, "ICE" is definitely something to remember. 🙂
