So in write the phrase you read it says "My family is going to come here" and it said the right answer was "mi familia va a venir aqui" but I was thinking it would have or should have been "Mi familia VAN a venir aqui" since it is talking about plurals because family is usually plural so it would be "van" instead of "va" even though i know it talks about second person but i see it as almost second person plural if that is a thing.

Even in English "family" is singular. It doesn't matter that it's made up of multiple people, it's still one family, and singular -- which is why we say things like "My family is going to the movies." We don't say, "My family ARE going ..."

ahhhh I was half thinking that as well, but wasn't sure if it was the same rule, and I think I had a brain fart LOL Thank you!!
