As I am doing my spanish review curricular for the new upgraded lessons, I noticed an error I feel. It says "Ellas practican su frances juntas" but shouldn't it be SUS instead of Su? as in "Ellas practican SUS frances juntas" since it is talking about multiple people together and showing ownership? Number and Gender must agree with one another, right?

Number and gender of what it is modifying, which in this case is frances (French), and is singular.

But its for multiple people, I feel like it should be sus since it is talking about a group of people doing something together. I feel like I've said it like that before and was not corrected by my spanish speaking friends. it's really bugging me. I need a little more explanation. I've never had a problem with it really before until now.

Possessives agree with the noun they modify, that is, with the object possessed. "Their" can be translated as "su" or "sus" depending on whether they go with a singular or plural noun: "Their car" would be "Su auto" (it belongs to two or more people, but it's a single car) and "Their cars" would be "Sus autos" (again the cars we are talking about belong to two or more people, but in this case we're referring to more than one car). Since "francés" is a singular noun, "their French" is translated as "su francés". Hope this is clearer now, you can also review session 12, level 3, where we introduce the Spanish possessives for "our", "your(p)" and "their".

Thank you, that makes sense! I think it is because to me it feels like frances feels like a plural noun bc it ends with an S and it throws me off. Thank you so much!!!
