I either do not understand, or there is a flaw. In "Write the Words You Hear" and "Type the Conversation" I answer correctly but the program does not allow me to proceed to the next question. Can anyone help

I had the same problem two or three times in Disc 1, and wrote to Fluenz each time saying that I had uncovered an error. Each time, they told me I had missed an accent mark. And each time it turned out they were right. Look closely at the answer and you should see it. I forget the word it was on. It might have been mi.

I think we cannot help without knowing what was asked and what you answered.. But Fluenz did send out a version that at least for some languages/levels required punctuation specifically in the "what you hear" and "Type the conversation" parts. See if that fixes the problem. But if so, it is a flaw, and you should contact Fluenz for a replacement or update.

I had this issue too Charles. First, look at the top of the screen and turn off Challenge Mode. That will make it so you don't have to do the accent marks, EXCEPT for the tilde over the n's for some reason. You can make that by hitting the ; key.

The tilde ~ over the n in Spanish isn't optional because it isn't considered to be an accented character. It's simply a distinct letter, like a and b. Same goes for ç in French.

Well, we are not hearing from Charles, but if his problem is SPECIFIC for parts of the program where you type what you hear (but not what you read), I would almost bet it is the punctuation problem, and he needs a fix.

You may close or switch off CHALLENGE mode. It will solve your problem next to the MENU button.
Also, you may click on ANSWER button down below where you write, to see what is wrong with your writing. I am sure you will figure it out. I had a lot of similar situations where I am so sure, but noticed that I am missing some little very tiny things :)

You can also delete what you have type entirely, click on "Answer" and it will fill in what it wants in the box you normally type in.. You can then move to the next question as if you had typed in the answer yourself. It will only do this if the typing field is entirely blank though. And once it fills in the right answer by itself, you can check to see what was different, if you can find it, before moving on.

while it could be a software issue I suppose, i've had the same experience over and over but each and every time i realized that even though I thought i'd typed the correct answer i had actually made a single letter typo or forgot an accent - same experience as the earlier posters to this question.

I have also run into this problem and it is not due to mmissing accent marks. I have challenge mode turned off, and ~25% of the time, a correct answer is not accepted. To get around this (on my iPad), I touch the typing area to bring up the keyboard, then touch enter, and the answer is resubmitted with no changes and the program will accept it and continue. I do notice that even when the answer is not accepted, I do hear the "correct answer" chime. I use this chime sound as the indicator to try to resubmit the answer agian. Hope this helps some others.
