Can someone tell me what is the difference between using Ha (lei ha) vs. Avete (Voi avete). Such as Lei ha l' indirizzo? (Do you have the address) vs. Voi avete ombrelli? (Do you have umbrellas?). Is it because (Ha) ends with a vowel and (Ombrelli) begins with a vowel?

Hi! "Ha" is the possessive for He/She/You (formal). "Avete" is the possessive for "You (plural)". I'll give you the whole set:
Io ho --- I have
Tu hai --- You have
Lui/lei/Lei ha --- He/She/You(formal) has/ (have for formal "You")
Noi abbiamo --- We have
Voi avete --- You (plural) have
Loro hanno --- They have

So none of these forms change with the nouns they possess, but they have to change in regard to the person they're referring to. I give you examples:
Io ho l'indirizzo --- I have the address
Io ho gli ombrelli --- I have the umbrellas

Lei ha una casa --- You have a house
Lei ha due case --- You have two houses.

Hope this helps! In bocca al lupo!

Avery: consider the situation. In a market you would address the clerk in the plural, "Voi avete pomodori?" (Do you (all) have tomatoes?) and the clerk would reply, also in the plural, "Si, noi li abbiamo" (Yes, we have them.) Whereas, when speaking with an individual, we would use avere (ha?, ho) in the singular.
