I'm about 2/3 through German 3 and am finding it difficult to keep pronouns straight (masculine/feminine/plural, nominative/accusative/dative, 1st/2nd/3rd person, etc.). Any tricks for keeping these straight aside from memorizing a chart?

I am in the early part of German 3, and this has also been my biggest hurdle so far--especially the endings for the different cases. I've memorized the charts, but mentally going through the chart is not very satisfactory when I'm trying to carry on a conversation. The good news is that as I've been progressing through the program, the ending that sounds right actually is correct more and more often, so my approach now is to type in or say the ending that pops into my head, and then go through the chart mentally if it turns out to be incorrect. I'm not sure this qualifies as a trick, and it has not yet totally solved the problem, but I am getting better.

Thanks! I recently made a chart and flashcards for the pronouns. Hopefully with time the right words will come more naturally. I've also noticed that when I go with my first instinct it's usually correct. I get into trouble when I second guess myself.

Try using a memory palace. Check out some videos on Youtube on how to do this by searching "Memory Palace Language Learning" and you'll find a ton
